Everything you need to know about diamonds
At Luxumoon, every diamond in our collection is a lab-grown diamond — physically, chemically, and optically identical to a mined diamond, with the same brilliance, hardness, and fire. Here is what makes a diamond exceptional.
The 4 C's
The 4 C's are the universal grading system used to evaluate diamond quality. Every Luxumoon diamond is graded against these standards.
Cut
The cut is the most important of the 4 C's — it determines how much light a diamond reflects and how brilliant it appears. A well-cut diamond will sparkle even in low light. Our diamonds are cut to excellent or ideal standards.
Colour
Diamond colour is graded from D (completely colourless) to Z (light yellow). We use D, E, and F colour diamonds across our collection — the top three grades, all considered colourless to the naked eye.
Clarity
Clarity measures the presence of internal inclusions or external blemishes. Our diamonds are graded VVS1, VVS2, or VS1 — meaning inclusions are not visible to the naked eye and rarely visible even under 10x magnification.
Carat
Carat refers to the weight of the diamond — not its size. A 1 carat diamond weighs 0.2 grams. Our collection ranges from delicate side stones under 0.1 CT to statement centre stones of 4 CT and above.
Lab-grown vs mined diamonds
Lab-grown diamonds are created using advanced technology that replicates the natural conditions under which diamonds form. The result is a stone that is identical in every measurable way to a mined diamond — same hardness (10 on the Mohs scale), same refractive index, same crystal structure.
The only differences are origin and price. Lab-grown diamonds are typically 50–70% less expensive than mined diamonds of equivalent quality, making it possible to access larger, higher-quality stones at the same budget.
Diamond certification
All Luxumoon diamonds of 1 carat and above are individually certified by the International Gemological Institute (IGI) — the globally recognised authority for lab-grown diamond grading. Each certificate documents the stone's exact 4 C's grade, dimensions, and unique identifying characteristics. The certificate travels with your ring.
